Admitted to Hospital Section, 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, 29 April 1915 (sprained ankle); transferred to Egypt, and admitted to No 2 General Hospital (Ghezireh Palace), Cairo, 8 May 1915; date of discharge not recorded.

Embarked Alexandria, 26 May 1915; rejoined unit at Gallipoli, 4 June 1915.

Wounded in action, 6 June 1915 (gun shot wound, left knee, abrasions); admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, 11 June 1915 (synovitis, knee); transferred to A&NZ Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 15 June 1915; discharged to Base, Zeitoun, 26 June 1915; rejoined unit at Gallipoli, 14 July 1915.
