Military Medal 'Between Corner Fort and Le Brideaux east of Fleurbaix. His resource and leadership were most marked during the raid by his battalion on 21.2.16. On two occasions he dealt skillfully with a nasty situation, once when a gap occurred between his own and the Coy and his flank and later when a party of 8 enemy offered resistance he got together men from another Coy and attacked them killing one and capturingseven. Throughout operations in September last he did fine work as a Coy Signaller. Strength of Raid 15 officers and 516 ordinary ranks.'
