| Medals |
Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and constant devotion to duty during active operations round Bapaume and near Gouzeaucourt from 25th August to 13th September 1918. This NCO was in charge of the Battalion Transport carrying ammunition and
bombs. He constantly brought forward limbers to Battalion Headquarters and to forward dumps, always exposed to heavy shell fire. On the 11th and 12th September he made several trips to within 500 yards of the front line in full view of the enemy passing through a heavy barrage each time. His work was extremely difficult and arduous, but he carried out his duties with wonderful skill and promptitude. The success of his enterprise saved casualties to both men and horses.'
