Military Medal 'During the attack on Messines Blauwen Molen beyond Messines on the 7th June 1917 this NCO did exceptionally good work in handling his section. He kept his men together and directed them to their objective with skill. After the position had
been consolidated he displayed courage in bringing in wounded under shell fire. On many occasions he has shown himself a bold and resourceful patrol leader.'
