Military Medal 'At Longuval on the morning of the 15th september, this N.C.O moved forward practically with the Infantry, and when the 13th Battery was selected at Delville Wood, returned and acted as a guide to this position. In preforming this he showed great coolness and devotion to duty. Later when digging gun pits and the 3 remaining of his men of his squad were casualtied, he regardless of any personnel risk, bandaged them and conveyed them to a place of saftey, under continuous shellfire. By this act he probably saved the lives of these men, as they were seriously wounded and the place where they were hit was under heavy shrapnel fire.'
