Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and good work near Amman on 25th September, 1918. He made a personal reconnaissance under rifle and machine gun fire to help on attack by troops on right, and at the critical moment rushed his guns forward and brought
enfilade fire to bear on the enemy positions, thus greatly assisting in the capture of six machine guns and 100 prisoners.'
