Source: London Gazette Date: Mentioned in Despatches 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This Officer has been most devoted to his work, in organising of Battalion, training and all that tends to improve the efficiency of the Unit. His fine example has done a considerable amount to improve the standard of this Battalion. Steady, reliable and a highly efficient Officer and an excellent Adjutant. His work in training, and while the Battalion was in the line, was of a very high standard.'
