Medals |
Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in the field. East of St Julien on the 4th October he was in charge of a "mopping-up" platoon and handled his men in a most masterly manner clearing up the ground allotted to him. Afterwards he became the sole surviving senior NCO of his Company and did invaluable work in assisting the one remaining Officer on the work of consolidation. He worked until absolutely exhausted without thought of his own safety and set a splendid example to the men. His work throughout was of the highest standard and no praise is too high for it.'
