Embarked Alexandria for france, 8 April 1916. Wounded in action, 4 June 1916 (gun shot wound, shoulder), and admitted to No 8 Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 13th General Hospital, Boulogne, 12 June 1916; to England, 18 June 1916, and admitted to Reading War Hospital; transferred to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 7 August 1916; discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 4 October 1916; marched in to NZ Reserve Group, Sling Camp, 15 January 1917. Admitted to Military Hospital, Tidworth, 18 January 1917 (no details recorded). Proceeded overseas to France, 17 March 1917, and marched in to NZ Base Depot, Etaples.
