Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous devotion to duty during the period 25th February 1918 to 16/17th September 1918 and bravery under fire. On 5th April while his Company was working in front of Bertrancourt it came under heavy enemy shell fire and suffered casualties. Morris at great risk to himself was instrumental in getting the wounded of his own and other units to a place of safety. Morris has at all times carried out
his work in a conscientious manner and has set an example to the rest of his company.'
