three men down a sap leading towards the enemy, under cover of Stokes Mortar fire, until he reached a position from which to raid an enemy strong point. From here he led his patrol overland, scrambled over the enemy wire, entered the strong point, and brought back a useful prisoner under hostile machine gun fire. The enterprise was carried out with dash and decision.'
