Lieut Jacob was in charge of a platoon during the advance in October and November 1918. He did exceptionally good work and handled his men well under fire. He frequently went forward immediately behind the infantry and made a personal reconnaissance of the roads thereby enabling his company Commander to get the company on to the job allotted to it without loss of time. He is a keen and reliable officer.'
