Meritorious Service Medal 'Operations: Bellevue Spur 4th October 1917 to 20th October 1917. For devotion to duty. During the above operations this warrant officer was conspicuous by his marked ability and devotion to duty. At one time he assumed command of his Company, and carried our his duties in a most keen and efficient manner. He has always set a fine example to all NCOs and men of his Company. This W.O. has served continuously with the Battalion since May 1915.'
