Military Medal

'Operations opposite Polderhoek, 27th November to 5th December 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the advance on the Polderhoek Chateau on December 3rd this N.C.O; when several of his team had become casualties, and whilst under heavy fire, went back and collected the missing parts, and succeeded in bringing his gun into action engaging the enemy with direct fire until his gun was damaged, and all his team, including himself, were wounded.'
