Military Medal 'On 30th March 1918 ? West of Serre. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to
duty. When advancing to the attack with the infantry four enemy machine-guns
temporarily checked the advance. Although in the open, and only 50 to 60 yards
away he mounted his gun and silenced those of the enemy. He then dispersed the
enemy by gun fire in a C.T. and gained contact with the infantry on his right. He
showed very fine courage and resource.'
