Taken on strength, NZ Convalescent Depot, Hornchurch, 13 January 1916. Marched out to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 6 July 1916. Taken on strength, NZ Reserve Group, Sling Camp, 24 August 1916. Appointed Temporary Corporal, 2 October 1916. Proceeded overseas to France, 6 January 1917. Transferred to 15th Battery, in the field, 22 January 1917. Relinquished rank of Temporary Corporal, 8 March 1917, on being admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance (mumps).
