| Medals |
Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 4th November 1918, as a Battalion observer he was continually up with the first wave of the attack. He reconnoitred the line of assembly near Villereau and obtained most useful information for the front Companies, including the location of an enemy machine gun which was holding up the advance. Later, though himself severely wounded, he dressed the wounds of others of his party under heavy shell fire. His
perserverance and initiative in making reconnaissances during the advances were a splendid example to all his comrades.'
