Military Cross 'Operations Becelaere Sector 9th December 1917 to 22nd February 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer, as Company Commander, has done especially good work. While in the line during many tours of duty of a most trying nature, he has invariably carried out his duties in a most praiseworthy manner. His capabilities are of a very high order. His coolness and sound judgement and rapid grasp of any situation have earned for him a reputation of a very reliable officer.'
