Proceeded overseas to France, 20 February 1918; marched in to NZ Wing, XXII Corps Rest Camp, 24 February 1918.

Admitted to Divisional Rest Station, 28 March 1918 (accidental injury, ankle); joined 1st Bn, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, in the field, and posted to A Company, 25 April 1918.

Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 26 April 1918 (sprained ankle, accident); transferred to 29th Casualty Clearing Station, 1 May 1918; to 49th General Hospital, Le Treport, 3 May 1918; to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 13 June 1918.

Marched out to No 3 NZ Entrenching Bn, 22 June 1918; transferred to 1st Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, 22 July 1918, and posted to C Company.

Killed in action, 1 September 1918.
