Distinguished Conduct Medal 'On 4th November 1918, at Le Quesnoy, when his platoon commander became a casualty he commanded his platoon most successfully. On reaching the final
objective they were heavily fired on by two machine guns from a house. He immediately organised a party and led them forward, capturing the guns, afterwards returning and directing the consolidation of the position.'
