Military Cross 'He led his platoon forward under heavy fire to meet an attack on his posts. He repulsed the enemy with the bayonet, and then, with a party of bombers, drove
them out of a position they had captured. He thus re-established our line of outposts. He displayed excellent qualities of leadership and conspicuous courage throughout the operation.'
