Croix de Guerre (Belgium) 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the attack on the 5th September 1918, near Neuville Bourjonval, Lance Corporal Floyd showed conspicuous gallantry in carrying urgent and important messages from his Company Headquarters to Battalion Headquarters through an intense enemy artillery and machine gun barrage, and again on the 9th September, through the village of Metz, which was being heavily bombarded by the enemy. He showed great coolness and cheerfulness throughout, and set a splendid example of courage and disregard for danger to his comrades.'
