Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and good work during the attack on Passchendale Ridge on 12 October 1917. He showed splendid courage during the attack and consolidation, afterwards doing paticularly good work in getting in wounded. His Platoon Commander and Platoon Sergeant became casualties, whereupon he did very valuable work in assisting in the directing of his Platoon.'
