Proceeded overseas to France, 1 March 1917; joined 1st Bn, Otago Infantry Regiment, in the field, 30 March 1917, and posted to 10th Company. Detached to 2nd Army Rest Camp, 15 July 1917; rejoined Bn, 30 July 1917. Wounded in action, 11 October 1917. Now, 20 October 1917, reported 'Killed in action, Belgium, 12 October 1917.' Buried 160 yards E. of Pommeru Castle, Zonnebeke; reported by Rev. G.T. ROBSON, attached 1st Canadian Infantry Bn, 11 October 1917; grave subsequently lost. Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal |
