Military Medal 'Action before Favrueil north of Bapaume on 25th August 1918 and on subsequent days. On 25th August 1918 and on days following, he was in charge of bearers in the forward area. For 48 hours he remained continuously on duty directing the work of the squads of stretcher bearers. His coolness, energy, and endurance was a splendid example to his men.'
