Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and gallant conduct. During the attack near Gravenstafel, on 4th Oct. 1917, he showed great bravery and initiative, in leading successful attacks on several pillboxes. He organised the consolidation of his sector, and up to the time he was wounded, by his energy and fearlessness, set a splendid example to his platoon.'
