War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Egypt for Mudros, 4 November 1915 (Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli); attached to Field Ambulance, Anzac, 13 November 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 26 December 1915 (general Gallipoli withdrawal). Marched out to Canal Zone, 27 January 1916. Admitted to Mounted Field Ambulance, 29 February 1916 (influenza); discharged to duty, 4 March 1916. Transferred to England on duty, 21 September 1916; embarked Alexandria, 30 September 1916. Admitted to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 16 November 1916 (not yet diagnosed); discharged to duty, 13 January 1917.
