Military Medal 'Operations: British front near the Foret de Mormal 5th November 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the above operations
Lance Corporal Edgecombe was in command of a Lewis gun section. When the advance was held up by hostile machine gun fire he pushed his gun out to a flank
and rushed the machine gun, capturing it. He displayed great bravery and determination and set a fine example to all ranks.
