Military Cross 'For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty from 17th September to 11th November 1918. Almost continuously during this period he commanded a Battery with great success. He carried out every task given him most successfully, and displayed great courage and determination and tactical ability throughout. On several occasions while his Battery was being shelled during barrages he personally
superintended at the guns and by his cheerfulness, courage and organisation kept his Battery in action.'
