Military Medal 'During the battle in front of Puisieux on the 21st August 1918 this gunner displayed the greatest gallantry and devotion to duty. He accompanied Lieut Sievers throughout the day and was of the greatest assistance to this officer. It was due to this gunner's utter disregard for his own personal safety that communication was maintained and immediate use made of all information collected by Lieut Sievers.
Time after time this gunner exposed himself to the most severe machine gun fire in order that communication should at all costs be maintained.'
