Military Medal 'Operations: British Front near Pont a Pierres and Beaudignies 23rd October 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the above operations Private Doyne was in command of a Lewis gun section, and led his men with great dash and skill. When the Battalion on the right were held up he rushed his gun forward and enfiladed the enemy who were forced to retire, thus enabling the troops to get on. His own personal disregard for danger in face of heavy machine gun and shell fire inspired confidence and set a fine example to the men.'
