Embarked Wellington, 26 April 1917; subjected to stoppage of pay (2/9d) at sea, 28 June 1917; admitted to ship's hospital, 1 July 1917; discharged from ship's hospital, 4 July 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 20 July 1917, and marched into Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 6 September 1917; joined 3rd Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 16 September 1917, and posted to B Company.

Reported missing, 12 October 1917.

Court of Enquiry, 27 April 1918, concluded: 'Killed in action, 12 October 1918.'
