Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a Stretcher Bearer near Kron Prinz Farm from the 14th October to the 17th October 1917. He showed great
courage in carrying wounded to the regimental aid post under very heavy enemy bombardment. It was due to this man's bravery and determination that the lives of many men were saved. He has previously done good work as a Stretcher Bearer during the operations on the 4th and 5th October 1917.'
