Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 23rd October, 1918, when the battalion advanced beyond Romeries, he was in command of his platoon. On two occasions he outflanked machine gun posts which held up the company's advance. On the second occasion he went forward with a small party and stormed a post, which he took, although he had already been wounded.'
