Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Near Mancourt in the attack on 1st September 1918 he was wounded but insisted in carrying on and assisted in the capture of three machine guns and fourteen prisoners. He showed coolness and courage of a very high order.'
