Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty. On the night of the 3/4th July 1916 near Armentieres the trenches were subjected to a heavy bombardment for over two
hours, and A/Sergt Andrews assisted by Corpl Shaw worked the whole time and dug out 11 men who had been buried.'
