Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the advance of 1st September, at Bancourt Pte Coxhead did very effective and gallant work in
charging enemy machine gun posts shooting many of the crews and assisting in capturing the guns. He was severely wounded whilst so engaged.'
