Croix de Guerre (Belgium) 'Operations: British Front near Bapaume 25th August 5th September 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the attack near Biefvillers on the 24th August, and again at Havrincourt Wood on the 5th September 1918, Corporal Cox showed conspicuous gallantry in leading his Section forward under heavy enemy machine gun fire, thus enabling his platoon to reach their objective, and adding to the success of the attack by his Company. He showed exceptional ability as a Section leader, and set a fine example of courage and initiative to his
section.'

Det. to resist and offer violence to their Superior Officer in the execution of their duty; Alternative charge: being present whilst mutinous soldiers of the O.P. Det. forcible [sic] entered the Sgts' Mess of No 2 Camp Sling and not use [sic] his utmost endeavours to assist his superior Officers to suppress said mutiny': awarded 6 months' imprisonment with hard labour, reduced to the ranks, and forfeited 29 days' pay.
