Military Medal 'For gallant conduct and resourcefulness during an attack near Beaumont Hamel at 2pm on 30th March 1918. This N.C.O led two sections forward to the objective under exceptionally heavy Machine Gun fire. He organised the consolidation of the new line and by his coolness and fine example of determination kept his men at work until the position was made safe.'
