Military Medal 'For conspicuous devotion to duty in Ypres Sector during period 1/7th October 1917 in carrying orders from Battalion Headquarters to Companies working on
Wieltje Gravenstafel Road. Conway frequently came under heavy shell fire at all hours of the day and night but never hesitated in carrying out his work. He did exceptionally good work during Messines Operations and has always set a good example to other men for coolness and trustworthiness under the most trying circumstances.'
