Military Cross 'At Messines during the operations of the 7th 8th and 9th June 1917, this Officer displayed great courage, organising power, and devotion to duty. His Aid Post was established in a place frequently under heavy shell fire. In spite of this he remained there the whole of this period and was unceasing in his efforts for the wounded. This officer has a long record of good service in Gallipoli and France.'
