Embarked Wellington, 26 June 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 22 August 1916; marched into Sling Camp, 23 August 1916.

Proceeded overseas to France, 14 September 1916; joined 1st Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 1 October 1916, and posted to B Company.

On duty with Field Cashier, 22 December 1916; rejoined Bn, 8 January 1917.

On leave to United Kingdom, 22 September 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 4 October 1917.

Wounded in action, 12 October 1917 (gun shot wound, left thigh), and admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance.

Died of wounds, 2nd Anzac Dressing Station, 12 October 1917.
