Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during the operations at Messines on 7th and 8th June
1917. He is a runner and continuously passed backwards and forwards under heavy
shell and machine-gun fire. He displayed great bravery and devotion to duty
throughout and his work merits the highest praise.'
