Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership, Foret de Mormal, 5th November, 1918, when in command of one of leading companies, which, after advancing about
2000 yards came under heavy machine-gun fire from the enemy. He skillfully worked his men forward and rushed the position. He then pushed on and eventually took his final objective, taking forty prisoners and leaving many dead in the field.'
