Embarked Wellington, 31 May 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 26 July 1916, and marched into Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 5 September 1916; joined 3rd Bn,6.NZ Rifle Brigade, and posted to A Company, 4 October 1917

Found guilty, 25 April 1916, of (1) being absent from Tattoo Roll Call, 8.45-10 pm; (2) being in an estaminet after hours: deprived of 5 days' pay.

Found guilty, 18 March 1917, of neglect of duty while serving as sentry: deprived of 2 days' pay.

Detached to No 2 Field Company, NZ Engineers, 23 July 1917; rejoined unit from detachment, 6 August 1917.

On leave to United Kingdom, 2 September 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 16 September 1917.

Found guilty, 25 September 1917, of (1) drunkenness; (2) being absent from billet after 9 pm: deprived of 3 days' pay gross.

Detached to Brigade School, 28 September 1917; rejoined unit from detachment, 5 October 1917.
