This man acted as a stretcher bearer and was unceasing in his efforts to assist the heavy machine gun fire, and by his fine work many livs were saved, and much suffering prevented. He showed an absolute disregard for his own personal safety, and before the Company was relieved immediately after an attack, he went around the Company area and made certain that no wounded wereleft lying out.'
