Military Medal 'Operations: British Front in the vicinity of the Foret de Mormal 5th November 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the above operations Private Bryant was in command of a Lewis gun section. When the advance was held up by machine gun fire he rushed his Lewis gun forward to an exposed position on the flank enfilading and silencing the enemy's gun, thus allowing the other troops to capture the gun without casualties. By this brave and prompt action he undoubtedly saved many casualties.'
