Military Medal 'Operations west of Bapaume 25th August 1918. For gallantry and devotion to duty. This soldier did excellent work as a linesman repairing wires and maintaining communication under incessant artillery and machine gun fire. He worked continuously throughout the advance, and assisted materially under very trying conditions in establishing good communication.'
