Military Medal 'This man on the 23rd May 1916, was on duty at No. 4 Bridge, Armentieres during the shelling which commenced about 7.15pm The shelling continued for over 2 hours and the Bridge was actually hit but Pte Wright, although he was aware of the fact that a powerful charge of gun cotton was placed under the Bridge, stuck to his post during the whole of the bombardment and refused to leave.'
