Posted to 8th Squadron, Canterbury Mounted Rifles Regiment, Kantara, 30 July 1916. Wounded in action, Canal Zone, 23 December 1916 (gun shot wound, left forearm: slight); admitted to 24th Stationary Hospital, Canal Zone, 27 December 1916; transferred to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, 1 January 1917; to 15th General Hospital, Alexandria, 30 January 1917; to Montazah Convalescent Home, 1 February 1917; discharged to duty, 23 February 1917. Posted to Canterbury Mounted Rifles Regiment, in the field, 1 April 1917. Detached to Rest Camp, Port Said, 19 August 1917; rejoined unit from Rest Camp, 28 August 1918.
